Pacer Machine Control Software
|
|
The machine
control software on all of the Pacer range of machines is
designed for ease of use but without sacrificing advanced
functionality.
The Pacer XMC-E control software is
based upon an open architecture so that it can accept design
data from any CAD system or drawing package in industry
standard formats. It is packed with features to maximise the
productivity of your Pacer CNC machine and provides the
machine operator with the ability to manipulate the design
and to determine how it will be machined without needing to
go back to the CAD system.
The machine program is
created automatically, based upon information entered by the
operator such as material thickness, cutter diameter etc. 3D
graphics are used to verify the program before running on
the machine. In the case of 3D machining, Pacer’s XMC-E
software will import a standard g-code machine program for
running directly on the machine.

|
Interactive graphics and a familiar
Windows XP user interface allow jobs to be set up for
cutting in no time at all. The automatic toolset feature
will quickly and reliably calibrate the position of the
cutter tip for perfect depth control. Feed rates can be
altered without interrupting the cutting and machine
operation can be paused at any time to inspect the cut
finish or to change a cutter. |

Some Key Features of XMC-E
|
| Automatic
cutter offset compensation |
3D G-code Data Input |
| Simply enter the cutter
diameter and whether an inside, outside or no offset is
required and the software will do the rest. Offset values
can be entered automatically by the system or manually to
achieve fine control. |
Enables the designer to sculpture serifs and
face widths of lettering to produce that hand carved
appearance. It also allows milling of complex 3D shapes and
surfaces for motifs, symbols, prototyping and modelling. |
| Engraving features |
Toolpath simulation |
|
Special features for engravers include area fill which
automatically generates contours within specified areas and
step and repeat which quickly facilitates multiple cutting
of the same job. |
Graphically simulate the toolpath before cutting to
eliminate errors. Jobs can also be started or restarted from
any point in the program. |
|
Advanced layer control |
Work holding tabs |
|
Interactively assign different parts of the design to
different layers to allow multiple cutting parameters in a
single job. For example use an engraving cutter with no
offset and a straight cutter with an outside offset in the
same program. XMC-E will prompt for cutter changes when
needed. Use up to 100 layers for handling really complex
designs. |
This is a particularly useful Pacer feature, which enables
small routed components to be held firmly in place until
removal. Improve quality and productivity by eliminating the
need for any clamps, special jigs or tape for holding down
small parts. Tabs can be positioned automatically or
manually. |
|
3D Profile cutting |
Multi-pass cutting |
|
Enter the cutter geometry and XMC-E will
automatically create the programs for impressive 3D profile
cut letters. |
Tough or thick materials can be processed
with ease. Just enter the maximum cut depth to be used per
pass. |
